Brownies
I had the genius idea of making brownies for the 5th grade. I spent alot of time making them because i believe that it will rise their interest, and they will like the whole idea of somebody being nice to them, and they will pay more attention. However instead of making normal brownies i added a layer of chocolate, i did this so that i can write (with m&m's) Dig. Law
This i believe will make them remember more, because they will think of the brownies, and then digital law

This is a screenshot of my digiteen. I worked really hard on the background, and i am probably one of the only people to change this. There is quite alot of information about me, and i posted a picture. As you can see i posted on other peoples walls, and they posted back. I added all the members of group 3b (digital law) from all over the world so that we can talk about our topic. I now have a lot more friends thanks to digiteen, and i plan on staying in touch with some of them.
Tomorrow we present

Today some people presented their videos, however Reem and i will present tomorrow. I am truly prepared for this, even though our video could be better, although this is not our fault (See next few blog posts.)
I think that i am doing really good in IT, and Mr. Jones said that i am definatly at a 6, and probably at a 7 in the report card. I am happy for this, yet it is deserved since i am one of the few people that recorded the steps, and actually did something and i am happy that my hard work will pay off in the end. :D:D:D
Rehearsal
Making a new video
Today we went out about 15 minutes to make some new videos, and we worked really effectivlly during those 15 minutes. However our first video was much better and so i am disapointed that the grade 10s would just save over somebody elses work.
I think that all students should have their own account on Mac, in order to prevent this happening again.
Reem and i now have everything done except for the video, and my blogger is also up to date...
DISASTER
However there is one good thing about this, Mr. Jones has already seen our video and he said it was really good. He said that we got a 7 on the video, but that we should tape some films again. He said that he does understand that it is not our fault, and that our second video will not even be close to as good as our first one.
However Reem and I need to deal with this and make the best of it, i am just happy that Mr. Jones has already seen our video.
Past few lessons
Reem and I do not have a lot more work that we need to do, and i am really proud of what we have accomplished so far.
Presentation Plan
First we will start talking about digital law, and what it is. At this time the presentation will be in the background.
We will then show our video. We will do it in this order so that the children know what they are watching. While the video is playing i will hand out brownies that i will make at home, i will do this so that they are focused and will enjoy watching our presentation more.
We will then talk some more about digital law, how it benifits us and some more detailed things.
We will then pass out the brochure that we have made, so that they can take it home and read some more about it. We will do this so that they dont forget the things that we covered in the presentation.
With the brochure we will hand out a word search for them to do, so that they have some more fun. The word search will be about digital law
We will then take any questions that people may have

So far i am doing reallyy good in IT and i think that i deserve and will get a 7/7 on the report card :D
Investigation
To make a video, I have done research on different sites on the internet. i have collected a list of videos, news articles, documents and just informational websites. I took about one week to complete my research and I also worked at home on it. I basically researched different keywords.
Because our problem solution is to make a video and presentation, i also did some research on what a good and infomative video needs. I looked at different informative videos on YouTube and found that most of them included fun pictures so the viewer doesnt get bored. Also, you can incorporate music in between the soeaking and explaining to make it more appealing, especially for children.
In order to make the video, we have to first do several things to assure that we know what our goal is. Firstly, we have to become familiar with the programme we will use which is Windows Movie Maker and we have to look at all the effects and things we can use in this programme. We will start the video next week and we plan for about two weeks filming and editing so that we are ready to present on time and that we are according to schedule.
Since we are performing for young children we need to make sure not too use any complicated words, but at the same time make it fun and enjoyable to watch so that they dont get bored.
Seeing as we are only two people in our group we will ask other people to film. The problem is that since Reeem is a strong muslim she is not allowed to be seen with boys at any time other than the lesson. This means that we can only film in class time, which greatly limits our time period.
We will use our mobiles to film the video, seeing as the camera is 5 mega pixel, and this way we always have the video with us. We will make the video not too long so that the 5th graders dont get bored, and we will stay simple and stay on the point.
What is digital law?
Law A rule that must be followed by an indicated group of people. A type of congress or a group makes the law.
Policy A principle or fundamental idea in order to achieve a level of ethics.
Regulation A rule maintained by authority.
Rule A set of idea/regulation/principles that conduct a group of people to achieve a level of peace and distinguish right from wrong.
Digital Law The electronic responsibility of ethical and non ethical actions that can lead to consequences like theft or crime.
Who uses Law?
Every civilian or person on this earth must follow laws, or ideas. Law in this case, applies to Middle School students using the Internet.
What is law?
Digital Law is a/are rule(s) that deals with ethical and not ethical issues in order to protect privacy, copyright, or the difference of wrong from right. Law is kind of like the handbook for the Internet. It gives the rules that must be followed. These rules contain things that distinguish right from wrong and things that give each user privacy and safety. The law is a barrier for some people. The law does not allow us to do certain things, but in some cases may make us take action. Law is what is used for something to function properly, in peace, and for it to work protecting every operator. Law deals with protecting people a lot of the time.
Where is Law?
Law can be found everywhere. Every single thing we do contains a law behind it. Most of the time, law is found where negative things can take place like piracy. Laws may be written or sometimes it is more of a culture thing dealing with ethics. A law also punishes people so it’s found in cases where negative things have taken place. Law can be found for example, in relationships between minors and adults. Law can also be found in piracy or music sharing like Limewire.
When is Law used?
Law is used when relationships are not flowing ‘smoothly’ or when someone is offended, hurt, or violated. For example it is illegal to create piracy because it violates the laws of copyright protecting the ideas of a specific author or person. Law is used when civilization must be reached therefore there has to be limits to what we can do so we can succeed at progress, Law is used to protect people
Why is Law used?
Digital Law is used for two main things; protect people’s privacy and copyright. For example, it is illegal to have sexual relationships with underage people, The Law imposing this is created because to protect privacy. Law is used because again, their needs to a boundary to what people can do, especially on the Internet. Some people have too much free time on their hands. This leads to violation of certain human rights. In order for this not to occur there must be a rule saying it cannot occur or punishment will be a consequence. Law is used so that a community can interact with each other in a kind, right and ‘polished’ manner.

1. Digital Access: In our community, we all have access to the internet and to computers. This helps us with our education and gives us fun. Many people are not as fortunate though to have access to computers and the internet.
2. Digital Commerce: In the internet, we sell and buy a lot of things. This has changed the market of different goods because more people have access and learn about products. It increases the profit that companies make, but the internet can also cause problems.
3. Digital Communication: In the internet there are many forms of communication: through forums, through msn or chatrooms, and maybe through socialzing pages such as facebook and myspace. You can share information or just talk for fun. This affects our lives a great deal.
4. Digital Literacy: This element is th eknowledge of knowing how to use the internet and for when the different features are appropriate.
5. Digital Etiquette: The rules and code of conduct that every user of the internet and computers are expected to follow. It is important to know about them.
6. Digital Law: These are the restictions and legal rules that must be followed and respected whilst using the internet or any other type of technology. These are rules that must be followed as they can have severe consequences.
7. Digital Rights and Responsibilities: This element of digital citizenship is about the right and freedoms that you have as a user of the internet. But this element also incorporates the responsibilities you have as a user of the internet.
8. Digital Health and Wellness: This element relates to the physological and physical wellness of users of the internet.
9. Digital Security: The restrictions and precautions you must take in order to secure your personal safety and security on the internet. This element is very important as it controls your safety on the world wide web.

Conclusion about the vidoes
I also think that parents should control what their children do, but children should also know what to do and what not to do on the internet.
I think that it is great that we learned about all these things, because now we know what do watch out for and what is safe.
Cyberbullying
I think that this section was the most interesting one out of all of them. This part talked about how a boy kiled himself after somebody convinced him to kill himself, online! I think that this is really crazy as i understand that real world bullying is a problem, however if somebody bullies you online you can just shut down the computer. I was really shocked about this, and i think that parents should talk to their children about things like this.
Private worlds outside parents reach
This is the fith part of all the documentaries. This talks about how teens have their own world and talk to people mainly online. It was cenetered around Saram who in real life acted like she is happy and there are no problems online, however when she is on the internet she starts talking to strangers about her problems, like that she thinks that she is obese. This sows that many teens are able to hide their problems from their real friends, however then share them on the internet. I think that parents should talk to their children about problems, and importantly about the internet.
The child predator fear
The fourth documentary video was about predators that are on the internet. The video bases around a woman called Evan Skinner. Evan Skinner is a woman who is greatly worried about the safety of her children on the internet, and the documentary talks about predators that can be found on chat rooms, email accounts, and social networking sites like facebook. I think that this video was a big over the top, since parents should control what their children are doing, and the children should be smart enough not to fall for the tricks that predators may lay. However i thought that the documentary was interesting.
Self expressions, trying on new identities.
This documentary video talked about how people can live two different lives, one in social world, and one online. The video cenetered around a girl who called herself Autum Edows. Autum Edows posted many near-nude pictures of herself on photo sites, due to the fact that in school she was not very popular and she liked the attention that she recieved.At the end she fell into depressions because here parents found out about her pictures and forced her to delete every single one. I thought that this was very extreme, and i think that she must have really low self asteem to do something like that.
A revolution in classrooms and social life
This video talked about the changes in the way lessons are taught in school, mainly about how the computers are being used much more now than they were 5 years ago. I think that it is really interesting that some of the teachers thought that copy-pasting was not cheating. The video also talked about a site called sparknotes, which i later went on and enjoyed.
Living their lives online
This video was on the PBS frontline site, and it was the introduction to the next few videos. The title was 'Living their lives essentially online.' This video warned us about how children use the internet as a major part of their life. I think that the video was right, and i never realised how much some people are on the internet
